87-year-old John Smatana of Albuquerque, NM appears on episode #519 of Hometown Heroes, airing April 13-15, 2018. A native of Gary, IN, Smatana served as a Navy corpsman attached to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division during the Korean War.

Paul, What a Blessing you have brought to our Dad. John Smatana. It meant the world to him to be able to tell his story and to us his Family to hear it. God has certainly Blessed us with an incredible Father and Grandpa and He continues to Bless our Dad with opportunities such a this to be encouraged.
