92-year-old Ralph Thissen of Merced, CA appears on episode #518 of Hometown Heroes, airing April 6-8, 2018. A native of Wisconsin, Thissen moved to Chowchilla, CA at the age of 6. His father had served in World War I, and Ralph, the fourth of ten Thissen children, would become one of six brothers to serve in the U.S. military.

Paul…….thank you for doing this interview with my dad, Ralph Thissen. Wednesday morning, Sept. 23rd, 2020, my dad passed away at the age of 95. Thank you for all that you do for our Veterans and our “Hometown Heroes”.
