Episode #683 of Hometown Heroes, airing May 29 – June 4, 2021, is a special Memorial Day edition detailing one Gold Star Family’s mission. Beuran O’Kane was just 19 years old when his aircraft was shot down on June 1, 1945. In this episode, his great nephew Jeff O’Kane walks us through how the family has uncovered clue after clue to bring the details of what happened to Beuran into focus. That quest is ongoing, with the ultimate hope of someday bringing the remains of Beuran and his 11 crewmates back home to the United States. You can follow further developments in that journey through the facebook group Beuran O’Kane, History of a Privateer from VPB-106.

    Brandon Renfro

My last name is Renfro and would like to know if Robert Renfro (Ep 638) is a relative. More than likely but I do not know how.

Brandon, do you have any family in Bakersfield California? Charles Robert Renfro. His nickname was Ranger Bob. He passed about 10 years ago or more.
