92-year-old Ray Richey of Clovis, CA appears on episode #427 of Hometown Heroes, remembering his service in the field artillery in Europe during World War II.
We’ll hear how a “poor farm boy,” who never went to high school ended up on Normandy’s Omaha Beach on D-Day, and how a shrapnel wound there may actually have saved his life.
