100-year-old Jane Boote of Fresno, CA appears on episode #617 of Hometown Heroes, airing February 27 – March 2, 2020. Born Jane Kissinger in Erie, PA, Boote joined the Army Nurse Corps in March, 1942 and spent more than four decades in nursing, retiring from the VA in 1984. She moved to Fresno to live at the California Veterans Home, which houses more than 300 veterans.
