Episode #804 of Hometown Heroes, airing September 23-28, 2023, chronicles the incredible rescue of over 250 civilians, for which seven members of the California National Guard were awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Three of those rescuers recently had the opportunity to reunite with many of the people they courageously extracted during California’s Creek Fire in 2020.
