94-year-old Jerry Gleesing of Spokane, WA appears on episode #66 of Hometown Heroes, airing March 14, 2009. A native of LaMoure, ND, Gleesing was a B-24 pilot with the 459th Bomb Group during World War II. Shot down on his second mission on January 15, 1945, Gleesing spent more than three months as a prisoner of war.
