Episode #566 of Hometown Heroes, airing March 7-10, 2019, focuses on the recent discovery by Paul Allen’s R/V Petrel of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV-8), which was sunk in October 1942 in the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands.
