    Hi Paul, Brian Weldon here, I love listening to Hometown Heroes. I had the pleasure & honor of being a guardian to WW2 Veteran Sheriff Ed Bates. He was the Madera Sheriff that handled the Chowchilla bus kidnapping in the 70’s. He had great stories about himself & his Marine wife Freida. He was in the navy & has some good stories.
